Wedding photography at the beautiful Wandsworth Register Office (The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London SW18 2PU).
The Wandsworth Town Hall was originally opened by Queen Mary in 1937. It has a beautiful art deco interior. It houses five licensed rooms catering for simple celebrations or large, formal affairs and includes the the Wandsworth Register Office’s Sovereign Suite or Elizabeth Room, the Victoria Room, the Alexandra Room, the Grand Chamber and the Mayor’s Parlour.
Photographs in the gorgeous art deco marbled hall with its sweeping stairway is a must for every couple getting married at the Wandsworth Town Hall. There is also a garden, and the secluded courtyard with its own fountain and imposing main entrance with stepped approach. They provide the perfect backdrop for your wedding day photographs.
On a Saturday the Register Office has two car parks for you and your guests. Parking in the courtyard is limited to two cars per ceremony and parking permits will be supplied. Other guests can park in the second larger Town Hall car park. During the week unfortunately there are no parking facilities. Only one car can be accommodated in the courtyard car park. Other guests may use nearby street parking or the NCP car park at the Southside shopping centre.
The Wandsworth Register Office (accommodates up to 8 guests). Parties having their ceremony in the Register Office (Elizabeth Room) or the Victoria Room, will see the Registrar together.
The Mayor’s Parlour can accommodate up to 8 guests.
The intimate, informal Victoria Room with its rich red them and original art deco conference table can accommodate up to 25 people (20 seated).
The elegant Alexandra Room is has attractive wood panlling and has a blue theme. It can accommodate up to 50 guests. Couples choosing to have their ceremony in the Alexandra Room can see the Registrar separately or together before their wedding. Separate questioning usually takes place if the bride is entering either on her own or with her bridal party.
The Grand Chamber can accommodate up to 98 guests. Couples having their ceremony in the Grand Chamber can chose to see the Registrar together or separately.
Photographs may be taken in the striking entrance hall before exiting by the front door. This is the perfect opportunity for some beautiful formal photographs as well as fun confetti.
