Wedding Photography | Do you remember seeing your parents and grandparents wedding photos? Maybe traditionally a black and white photo and likely in a treasured frame on the mantel piece or special corner at home? A moment of joy of two people in love having just been married, surrounded by family, stopping for just long enough to photographed as they exited the town hall to mark the occasion – frozen in time for generations to come to enjoy?
These days there are literally thousands of moments to be captured on a wedding day, each so special in their own way. The big picture, the details, the big moments of the ceremony, the little moments of emotion in between, the formal family portraits, the intimate genuine couple moments and everything in between.
Then lockdown happened. It meant weddings were scaled right back, and wedding photography went back to its bare bones too.
That iconic photo on the Register Office steps became the one moment that stood out above all.
Khon and Elaine were due to be married back in May last year, but of course with family abroad and lockdown 1.0 having taken its toll, their wedding got postponed like thousands of other couples until next year.. well.. forward 6 months and they had enough of waiting.. they decided they weren’t waiting anymore and it was now, literally that weekend. Wedding numbers were down to 6 people only – the bride and groom, their 2 witnesses and their partners. No one extra was allowed, not even the all important 😉 wedding photographer!
So instead of having no photographer to document their wedding, I suggested to the lovely E&K that we could rewind time and wedding photography for their day would be similar to how it may have been for their parents and grandparents. Wedding photos on the Register Office steps!
Oh and did we have fun!
Congratulations Khon and Elaine. Your day was perfect and so much fun ! xx
Are you having a micro wedding too? I would love to hear from you!
