Leatherhead Register Office Wedding Photography
Beautiful wedding photography at Leatherhead Register Office (The Mansion, 70 Church Street, Leatherhead, Surrey KT22 8DP)
Leatherhead Register Office is located in a beautiful old building located near Leatherhead town centre. During the reign of Henry VIII, the first home (also previously used as a school, a billet for Canadian troops during WW II and the Surrey County Council and Library) is thought to have been rebuilt in 1710 by Alexander Akehurst. Some of its many previous tenants have been, a Royal Falconer, a Lord Lieutenant of Surrey and, during a period of notoriety, Lord Jeffreys who became known as the ‘Hanging Judge’ after the Monmouth Rebellion.
The Marriage Room at the Leatherhead Register Office
The State Room is beautifully decorated in blue, cream and gold with mahogany woodwork and can usually accommodate up to 48 guests. However currently that is limited to the couple and 6 guests only. It offers a quiet and relaxed setting for your ceremony. As per most register wedding venue’s you may customize your ceremony with readings and music, ensuring that not only yourselves but your guests can relax and enjoy the experience.
After your ceremony, photographs may be taken in the conservatory with the quaint “kissing seat” or the stairs leading to the garden. This is the perfect opportunity for some beautiful formal photographs, fun confetti shots or informal relaxed photos with family and friends.
