Frequently Asked Questions

We really like what we have seen on the website, what would the next step be?

We would recommend you contact us and arrange an informal meeting to chat more about your wedding photography requirements. It is very important that you get on well with your photographer – it’ll help you relax, enjoy and just have fun with your guests on your day. Also, seeing albums and WeddingBooks add a different dimension to the images and there is no substitute for seeing the finished product beautifully presented. Your wedding photography will be priceless and the memories recorded will become more precious in the years to come.

Do you offer an engagement/pre-wedding shoot?

Yes and depending on distance it is included as a bonus extra when booking 8 or more hours. It’s an easy way for us to build up a natural report. It also give us the opportunity to get to know what you like from your photography and for us to chat about specific ideas and the type of images you’d like from your day. It will help you get over any camera shyness and help you relax and be confident on your wedding day. It’s the perfect opportunity for some beautiful images to remember this special time in your lives together and the images can also be used for a signature board, ‘save the date’ cards, or for a guest book at the wedding or for family gifts and framed images.

How long will you stay at our wedding?

Photography coverage can include anything from 1 to 14 hours on the wedding day depending on your requirements. We can discuss these at the initial meeting to ensure we cover all the most important events on your day.

How many photographs do you take at a Wedding?

We do not have a set number of images we take during a wedding, but depending on if you have one or two photographers, the number of hours, size of your wedding and number of formal portraits and the time you have for your creative shoot (15 minutes minimum recommended) you can expect to have a selection of between 300 and 600 images.

Do we get to keep all the images?

Depending on your investment, it may include a USB with full size high-resolution images from the day, together with a license to print for family and friends. All high-resolution images do not include a logo or watermark over them. A separate folder with a smaller copy of each image, ideal for email or Facebook, is also included and only these have a small low-resolution watermark in the bottom lefthand corner. The only limitation is that the images may not be used for commercial purposes (unless previously agreed in writing).

Do you take traditional group photos?

Family and friends are part of what makes your day special, so yes traditional group photos can be taken. We would however recommend that you limit these to 6-8 and allow approximately 5-8 mins (depending on how far the bar is!) for the set up of each group photo. Keep these to a minimum though (a bestman equiped with a short list of the groups is really helpful) so we can concentrate on the informal, fun images of you simply enjoying your day.

How far will you travel?

If you love our work, distance is no object! As London based international and destination wedding photographers we offer reportage and informal wedding photography for weddings in London, throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe, The Americas, South Africa and Australasia, basically anywhere in the world! We’re happy to cover weddings further afield and for those more than a 100 miles from KT17 we charge a set fee of £250 for two nights accommodation and travel expenses. For international weddings, in addition to your photography investment, the only costs charged are those for flights for myself and second photographer. A travel estimate can be provided on inquiry and finalised as soon as your bookings are confirmed to ensure you have no unexpected extra costs.

Do you have back up equipment?

Yes, we always have at least two to three cameras, plus a selection of lenses, a spare flash, batteries, memory cards etc.

What if it rains?

We have fun and make the most of the bad weather! We’ll turn the difficult weather to our advantage to create stunning and unique images.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, including public liability.

Do you require a meal at our reception?

If we’re there for more than 5 hours, yes please – it just gives us a chance to take a quick break and regroup whilst everyone else is eating too (not the most flattering time to photograph!). A hot meal would be lovely, but it’s not an essential requirement.

How long after the wedding can we expect to see our images?

Your images will be uploaded to a password protected online gallery ready to view within approximately two to three weeks. Friends and family will have access to the images after you have seen them and they will be able to place orders though the website.

Do we get to choose the images for our album or WeddingBook?

Yes, there are a couple of options. You can either leave the whole selection and design process to us or you can select approximately 50 images to which we can add to. Then once your album is designed you will be able to view it and make any changes you would like.

Do you offer Thank You cards?

Yes, these can be personalised with a message and a favourite images from your wedding. They make a beautiful keepsake for your guests.

How do we secure our wedding date?

A non-refundable retainer/booking fee of £250 together with a signed booking form is required to book your day. The remaining balance is due 28 days prior to the wedding. Payments can be made by cash, cheque, PayPal or online bank transfer (details available upon request).

Please feel free to contact us if you have any more questions, would like to check availability or set up an initial meeting. We look forward to hearing from you!
